FileRunner uploads are accelerated using multi-threaded parallel TCP transfers. This will make the best use of whatever available bandwidth you have. TCP is a non-aggressive transfer protocol and shares the bandwidth with other traffic on the network. This is perfect when you are transferring in a busy office environment and don't want to make yourself unpopular with your colleagues. It also means you don't need to do any traffic shaping to cap the bandwidth used for file transfers. However, if you are on a bad connection - perhaps a domestic internet connection or on location in a remote area - it is advisable you limit other activity on the connection whilst transferring your files.

If you know your connection is intermittent and patchy, it is also advisable to turn on the 'Ignore failed files' feature before commencing an upload. This feature will ensure that any files that have been successfully uploaded to our FileRunner server will be delivered regardless or whether or not other files in the package fail. To do this open up the Advanced settings menu form the Create package page. Make sure 'Ignore failed files' is turned on.

It always advisable to perform your uploads from a hard wired ethernet connection rather than wifi.
