Joining a ClearView Flex Session

How to join a session as a viewer

Updated yesterday

Once invited to a session by your presenter, you will receive an email with a
unique invite link. This invite will direct you to the ClearView Flex Viewer
app. Flex is designed to work with as little as a 1mbps when set to the Super Low bitrate setting. To support higher bitrate settings and gain a higher quality viewing experience we recommend you use a hardwired 15Mbps+ connection where possible.

Supported Browsers

To access the Presenter application, all you need is an internet connection, a web browser, and your user credentials. Please log in to Flex using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, please bear in mind Firefox does not support 10-bit video at this time. We recommend using Chrome for its full feature support.

Enabling Auto-Play on Browser

These steps will help you enable auto-play in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, allowing videos and audio to play automatically when you visit cvf.sohonet.com

Please see the instructions below for enabling Auto-Play in Chrome & Firefox (browser we recommend for presenters and viewers).

Joining on a Computer or Android device

You will be asked to enter your display name if you are on a web browser or
Android device. The name you choose will be visible to all other viewers in the
session. If you do not enter one, your email name will be used (everything
before the @ symbol). For privacy and security reasons, we understand not wanting to display your full name in a session. No additional application is needed in order to join a session from either of these devices.

Joining

When you first join the session, you might be asked to allow microphone
permissions if you have not visited the site before.

Microphone permissions

Please allow this if you would like to speak to your colleagues, but donโ€™t worry; your microphone will always be muted by default when joining a session. To learn more about In-channel voice chat, see (In-channel voice chat).
