SDI Input Ports

Input SDI Connections and wiring

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

ClearView Pivot utilizes DeckLink 8k Pro PCI Express cards for video inputs. Depending on the streaming needs, one or more SDI ports are needed. This guide will provide information on which SDI ports should be utilized.

SDI Port Location

SDI input ports are located at the front facing bottom-left side of the Pivotbox.

There are 2 DeckLink boards. The top one contains the Output ports, while the one at the bottom is the Input board we are referencing.

SDI Port Names

DeckLink 8K Pro boards have 5 physical SDI connectors exposed. The first connector, which is located on one edge of the board, at a different distance than the rest is the Reference in connector. The other ports are named SDI 1, SDI 2, SDI 3 and SDI 4 starting from the Reference in connector, as shown below.

Port Connection

Depending on the streaming needs, 1, 2 or 4 connectors can be used for single, dual, and quad link.

Single Link

For Single link video streaming, the video source should be connected to SDI 4 (Single Link can be set to any other port by contacting Sohonet’s Support).

Dual Link

For Dual link video streaming, the video source should be connected to SDI 1 (Channel B) and SDI 2 (Channel A).

Quad Link

For Quad link video streaming, the video source should be connected to SDI 1 (Channel D), SDI 2 (Channel C), SDI 3 (Channel B), and SDI 4 (Channel A).
