Can ClearView Flex be used for remote color grading?
Updated over a year ago

We’ve had a number of customers using ClearView Flex for remote color grading where flexibility is required and bandwidth is a large concern. An example of this is our customer Dirty Looks (specialists in color grading), who used Flex to remote color grade with director Shane Meadows and found the workflow absolutely suited their needs.

Currently, ClearView Flex is capable of both 4:2:0 8-bit and 4:2:0 10-bit broadcast-grade output, so there is a trade-off with flexibility/latency/bandwidth and color, but a remote color grade has worked where a calibrated monitor or TV is provided to the other end, so that both sides know exactly what the other side is seeing.

If it is required that you view ClearView Flex on a calibrated TV, we recommend using our Apple TV app with rather than plugging your laptop into the TV over HDMI. That way you can get the best output for your session. The Apple TV app is supported for sessions with either a Pro subscription or an active Weekly or Monthly Pro credit.
