Setting up your details and account preferences

Updated over a week ago

Your User Profile

You have control over your personal details. You can make changes by heading to your user profile, accessed at the bottom of the main menu.

User Avatar

Add a profile picture by uploading a photo to your profile. This can be a .jpg or a .png and should ideally be provided in a square format.

Personal details

Your first and last name are editable should your name change or if an error was made when adding your account. You can not edit the email address added without speaking to a member of our support team.

Mobile/Cell numbers

To receive packages requiring PIN verification, we need your mobile/cell number. Keep this info up to date to avoid any hiccups when downloading these packages.

Timezone

Your timezone is used to display dates and times related to package transfers and access periods.

Permissions

Under the permissions tab you can view the permissions for each FileRunner project you have access to including if your user role, individual permissions and any groups you have access to.

Project Admin

Users assigned the Project Admin role have access to reporting, user management and Project settings. This allows them to:

  • View all user activity

  • Add & remove users

  • Manage user permissions

  • Control security settings

Permissions

Send & Receive

Allows all users to both send and receive FileRunner packages

Receive Only

Users with this permission can exclusively receive FileRunner packages and do not have access to the send page

Groups

User groups are used to create segregated sub-groups of users who are only able to exchange packages with each other. When sending a package, you will only be able to select users from within your groups or from the Master Group. Master Group users are visible to all and can send to all.

If any permission changes are needed, please contact an admin on the project to assist with the request.

Updating your password

If you remember your password:

  • Navigate to the Password tab on your user profile.

  • Enter your current password.

  • Set your new password, ensuring it meets our specified requirements.

  • Confirm your new password by entering it again.

If you've forgotten your password:

Go to the login page.

  • Click on "Forgot my Password."

  • Provide the email linked to your account.

  • Check your email for a password reset link.

  • Follow the instructions in the email to quickly create a new password.

Ensure your new password is secure and adheres to the specified requirements outlined on the form.

Email Notifications

At the moment, FileRunner doesn't offer the option to opt out of specific email notifications. We strongly recommend keeping email notifications enabled, as they play a crucial role in informing you about incoming and outgoing packages.

For users who wish to stay informed about all package activities on their account, you can nominate specific individuals to receive all package notifications. This can be set up by an Admin on the Settings page.
