Additional ways for admins to manage their project

Updated over a week ago

Activity and Reporting

From activity reports to security settings, FileRunner admins have additional tools at their disposal to help monitor their project. As an admin, you have access to the Activity page as seen below, this is the audit trail of all packages that are sent and downloaded in your project.

Selecting a package will provide additional information including download speeds, the destination IP address and whether or not each file was successfully downloaded or only partially downloaded.

For even more information, admins can choose to export this report to a .csv file for offline review. Simply click on the blue 'Export to .csv' button on the top right side of the page. A pop up will appear with various report period options to choose from. Select from the list of report periods or enter in your own date range as needed, select the 'Email Report' button once you've chosen your desired report period.

Project Level Settings

Admins have access to project level settings which include:

  • Allow package sending to unverified users

    • When enabled, users will be able to send packages to anyone with just an email address

    • When disabled, users will only be able to send to verified users

  • PIN Verification - a two-factor like authentication feature that requires the recipient to have a registered mobile phone number in order to download a package.

    • When enabled, you can force PIN Verification for all users or unverified users only.

    • When disabled, the option is left to the package sender during the package creation stage.

Lastly, admins can enable package activity notifications for specific users. By default package senders and recipients receive email notifications at various stages of delivery.

Senders should receive a notification when:

  • Their package is successfully uploaded

  • A package is successfully downloaded by a recipient

  • A package has not been downloaded and is about to expire. An additional notification may also be sent out at this time if the sender would like to extend the package for an additional 3 days.

Recipients should receive a notification when:

  • They have a package ready to download

  • They have not downloaded a package and it is about to expire

If you have additional contacts who would like to be notified when any package transfer is done on the project, they can be added to the Package Activity Notifications list by an Admin.

The Package Activity Notifications list can be found in the 'Settings' tab. To add someone to this list select the 'Add Notification +' and enter the person's name and email address in the respective fields. Please note, contacts added to this list are not required to be a FileRunner user in order to receive these notifications, although it is highly recommended. Once added to the list a project Admin can toggle the notifications on or off as needed. Please be sure to click 'Save Changes' before exiting the page.
